As part of Ontario’s "plan to catch up" for students affected by COVID-19, the provincial government will provide direct payments to families for tutoring support, supplies, and equipment.
Catch-up payments offer parents $200 or $250 per child to help offset costs as they support their children while they work to “catch up” on their learning after pandemic-related disruptions.
Parents with school-aged children up to 18 years of age can apply for payments of $200 to $250 for each child. Students with special education needs who are 21 or younger can apply for $250.
Families can apply for catch-up payments through a secure website where they can create a unique profile for each eligible student. Applications for catch-up payments will remain open until March 31, 2023.
Although $250 does not meet the current needs of our students, we hope that our clients might be able to recover some of their costs through this funding.
